Google Business Profile Photo Size

Google recommends 720 x 720 pixels and sets a minimum of 250 x 250 pixels, in JPG or PNG between 10 KB and 5 MB. Its help page lists no aspect ratio and no maximum pixel size, so the 5 MB file limit is the upper bound. Each photo should be between 10 KB and 5 MB. If a file is over 5 MB, the resizer lowers the JPG quality until it fits. Videos have separate limits: up to 30 seconds, up to 75 MB, and 720p or higher.

Google reviews every upload against its photo and video policies, and a photo marked Not approved does not show on Search or Maps. Photos also stay Pending, and hidden, until the Business Profile is verified. New photos can take up to 24 to 48 hours to appear. Google also asks for photos that are in focus, well lit, and free of significant alterations or heavy filters.

Google does not publish a separate size for the cover photo or the logo; the general photo guidelines are the only numbers on its help page. Setting a cover photo does not guarantee it shows first, and Google may pick a user photo if yours is low quality. A logo may not show until the profile has a name, a street address, categories, a phone number, and opening hours.
