Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit, making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.
At MenuCapture, we use essential cookies necessary for the Service to function properly, plus one referral attribution cookie described below. We do not use advertising cookies.
Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function. Without them, you cannot log in, access your account, or generate AI images.
Referral Cookie
This cookie is set only when you arrive through a referral link. It stores the referral code, contains no personal data, is not used for advertising, and is deleted once you create an account.
Cookies We Don't Use
MenuCapture does NOT use:
- Advertising cookies: We don't track you for ads
- Analytics cookies: We use privacy-focused analytics that don't require cookies
- Social media cookies: No Facebook, Twitter, or other social tracking
- Third-party tracking cookies: Your data stays with us
- Cross-site tracking: We don't track your activity on other websites
Third-Party Services
Stripe (Payment Processing)
When you make a payment, Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing. These cookies are essential for secure payment processing. View Stripe's Privacy Policy.
AI Service Providers
When you generate images, we send requests to AI service providers (such as OpenAI or Anthropic). These providers do not set cookies on your device through our Service. All AI processing is done server-to-server without placing any tracking technologies on your browser.
Analytics (If Enabled)
We may use privacy-focused analytics services that do not use cookies and do not track individual users. Any analytics provide only aggregated, anonymous usage data.
Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage and session storage to improve your experience:
- Image generation history: Temporarily stores your recent generation requests for quick access
- UI preferences: Saves your interface settings like dark mode or layout preferences
- Draft prompts: Saves your work-in-progress image descriptions
- Generated image cache: Temporarily stores generated images for faster viewing
This data never leaves your device and can be cleared through your browser settings. It's automatically removed when you clear your browser data or when it expires.
Managing Cookies
Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through settings. You can:
- View what cookies are stored
- Delete specific cookies
- Block all cookies
- Allow cookies from specific sites only
- Set cookies to delete when you close your browser
Impact of Blocking Cookies
Warning: If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to log in or use MenuCapture. The Service requires these cookies to function properly, including:
- Maintaining your login session
- Processing image generation requests
- Securing your account from unauthorized access
- Remembering your preferences and settings
How to Delete Cookies
To delete cookies in popular browsers:
Do Not Track
MenuCapture respects Do Not Track (DNT) browser settings. When DNT is enabled, we don't collect any analytics data, though essential cookies are still required for the Service to function. AI image generation and account functionality remain fully available with DNT enabled.
Cookie Consent for EU Users
If you're in the European Union, you will be asked for consent before we set any non-essential cookies. Essential cookies required for the Service to function are exempt from this requirement under GDPR as they are necessary for providing the service you requested.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your cookies or contacting us. However, withdrawing consent for essential cookies will prevent you from using the Service.
Image Generation and Cookies
Our AI image generation process does not require any special tracking cookies. When you generate food images, we use session cookies to maintain your request state and ensure generated images are delivered to the correct user. These are essential for the service and are automatically deleted when your session ends.
Cookie Policy Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If we add new cookie types or change how we use cookies, we will notify you and seek consent where required. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
